Fantastic show. The Metropolis is one of the best places on the planet to see a concert. Them Crooked Vultures at the Metropolis was the highlight of 2010. I get the shame part. I spent time with my family in Ecuador this summer and definitely felt embarassed at my inability to hold a conversation with them. My dad immigrated to Canada in the 70s and experienced a lot of racism so chose not to teach me and my sibs Spanish as kids. He wanted us to be 100% Canadian (whatever that means!) Btw, am in the middle of reading your book right now and just want to commend you for telling such an important story.
